Patrick Kane's historic career currently on hold following latest injury update
The Detroit Red Wings have issued an update on the status of iconic winger Patrick Kane, who is out of the lineup on Wednesday with an injury.
According
to recent reports, forward Patrick Kane won't be suiting up for the Red Wings anytime soon.
Head Coach Todd McLellan
updated the media on Kane's status, who is suffering from an upper-body injury.
McLellan stated that the forward won't be on the road trip to play the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders this Thursday.
Kane
would suffer an upper-body injury after he crashed into the boards during the team's 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning
last Friday.
«Patrick won't make this trip,» McLellan said during Tuesday's media availability. «He did skate today, which was a good sign. We'll evaluate him when we get back for the Saturday game.»
He wouldn't participate in Tuesday's practice, which isn't a great sign either, as the team will have to determine if there's been any progress while he's recovering.
The Detroit Red Wings Will be Without 50-point forward Patrick Kane
The Red Wings will miss the 1300-game NHL veteran in the lineup. He's been a fixture in the top six for the team since he arrived in 2023-24.
His last season with the Wings, he scored 59 points (21-38) and put himself above Mike Modano, breaking a record for 20-goal seasons scored by an American-born forward (he has 17).
