Detroit Red Wings affected by massive $460 million NHL agency sale
A $460 million sale of one of the biggest NHL player agencies greatly impacts the Detroit Red Wings organization
A blockbuster deal has been made official involving one of the NHL's biggest player agency services, and it's worth just $40 million short of half a billion dollars.
Player agency KO Sports, owned by Kurt Overhardt, is being purchased by another agency group named Wasserman, who owns some of the largest NHL contracts including
Connor McDavid's $100 million deal.
DailyFaceoff's Frank Seravalli revealed the news
Hockey agent Kurt Overhardt has begun notifying clients that his firm, KO Sports, is being acquired by Wasserman.

How $460 million sale of KO Sports impacts the Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings currently have a wide majority of their rostered players being represented by KO Sports.
Unfortunately for Red Wings' general manager
Steve Yzerman, Wasserman's sporting agency does not cheap out in contract negotiations. Meaning this agency change is going to cost the organization a lot more spending money if they choose to re-sign these players.
Wasserman will remain the 3rd largest NHL player agency, just two placed behind CAA Sports (#1) and Newport Sports Management (#2).
The sale of this agency does not only affect the Red Wings, but also the other 100's of clients' NHL organizations, as KO Sports' sold
client list is quite huge.
