The Detroit Red Wings Invite Griffins Stars and Outside Organization Players to Training Camp
The team has added multiple players from the Grand Rapids Griffins and some invitees outside of the regular roster in order to foster competition this season.
Forwards: Carson Bantle, Liam Kilfoil, and Vincent Collard.
Defense: Carl-Otto Magnusson, Jacob Truscott, Nicklas Andrews, Justice Christensen, Maxim Dirracolo, Wyatt Kennedy, and Alex Kannok Leipert.
It appears that General Manager Steve Yzerman believes that the team needs more help on the blue line.
He's not wrong, but will the solution come from the AHL or a camp invite?
Magnusson is of note, as he's a towering 6-foot-7, 225-pound defensive defenseman and could be one player who stands out among the pack in Detroit this preseason.
According to
Detroit Hockey Now, he knows how to utilize his size and his stick to play a smart and sound game on the ice.
He last suited up for Frolunda last season.
