Detroit Red Wings announce multiple roster moves amid troubling injury news

The Detroit Red Wings are in a rough spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference Wildcard Race, and following latest news shared by head coach Todd McLellan.
Defenseman Erik Gustafsson is officially sidelined for the rest of the season, as we addressed earlier today.
Forward Elmer Soderblom is also listed as day-to-day.
Following this troubling piece of news, the Red Wings were forced to make tough decisions with their AHL team, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Detroit Red Wings recall two players from their AHL

The Red Wings have announced multiple recalls, including forward Austin Watson and defenseman Brogan Rafferty.
Watson is a 33-year old who was born in Michigan, and is tough as nails- the sole reason as to why he is still playing at the pro level.
Rafferty is a 29-year old defenseman who has 19 points in 50 games in the AHL this season.
