Detroit Red Wings expected to put entire NHL on watch as he approaches 2 milestone
This season Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond can put the NHL on watch, as he could score his 100th goal, before his 24th birthday, putting him in elite company like Sergei Federov.
Lucas Raymond is one of the
Detroit Red Wings' continued bright spots on the team. At just 23 years old, he's been a key contributor since the 2022-23 season.
That year, he'd post 72 points (31-41) and score a career-high in goals and assists. He'd follow it up with an 80-point year (27-53), proving he's reliable, consistent, generally all the things GMs love.
Now in 2025-26, he isn't stopping as he's prepared to accomplish an impressive milestone in the NHL.
100 Goals Before The Age of 24: Will he Join Elite Company?
Raymond has scored 98 goals during his brief four-year career in Detroit. In order to place himself in elite territory, he'll only need to score two more goals at the beginning of the 2025-26 season to reach a new milestone.
100 goals before the age of 24. That would place him in elite territory with former Red Wings like Gordie Howe, Sergei Federov, Steve Yzerman,
Dylan Larkin, Ted Lindsay, Dale McCourt, Marcel Dionne, and Petr Klima.
He could also accomplish another milestone in his career this season, and it seems easy enough for him. He'd only have to score 46 points this year in order to reach 300 points.
With 254 points to his name, this is easily attainable and could be another glass ceiling for him to break.
Despite his lack of recognition from the NHL on their latest top-10 forwards under 25, Raymond has persisted as one of the top forwards in the league.
The Goteborg-born winger doesn't need official recognition to be an elite player, as his play on the ice does all the talking.
Raymond has been a key contributor in the past two seasons, as he led the team in points. In 2024-25, he set a career high with 80.
While tallying 53 assists and 8 power-play goals, he's found himself producing at a higher clip than we've seen before.
Raymond is poised to be the Red Wings best forward in the future. Will he help secure a Stanley Cup for the team when the rebuild is complete?
