Detroit Red Wings Land Point-Per-Game Forward In Massive Trade Scenario
A massive trade scenario sends a point-per-game forward to the Detroit Red Wings organization.
Adding a top-six forward should be a priority for Detroit Red Wings General Manager Steve Yzerman in the offseason. While most analysts think it's easier said than done, many interesting players will be available, and the team has enough trade assets
to pull off a significant move.In a new report, it was revealed that
Martin Necas could be on his way out of Colorado, only a few months after being sent to the Avs in the trade involving
Mikko Rantanen and the Carolina Hurricanes:
"There was a sense Necas wasn't overly thrilled with his experience in Colorado and that he wants to explore other options." - Nick Kypreos
The former Canes forward has another season on his contract, but if Colorado wants to avoid seeing him walk away with nothing in return, the organization could decide to ship him away before the 2026 trade deadline.
If he ends up available, the Red Wings must absolutely try to get him.
With another season left at $6.5M AAV, the Avs could get a great return on the trade market this summer.
According to a new report, the Wings could pull together a package to land him.
Berggren and Wallinder are two interesting players, and the picks could be interesting for Colorado.
That deal would make a lot of sense for Detroit as well, but it would be surprising if the Avs don't get a better offer from another team.
Also, with Necas set to enter free agency next year, the Red Wings could decide to wait another year to acquire him without paying to get him in a trade.
The 26-year-old forward scored 83 points in 79 games this season with the Carolina Hurricanes and Colorado Avalanche.
