The Detroit Red Wings organization has met with five specific prospects at the NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo.

NHL organizations and prospects were in Buffalo over the past days to attend the Combine, holding tests and interviews to see potential fits for the upcoming Draft.
At the 13th overall pick, the Red Wings will be in a position to add a great player, and the Combine is crucial to determine their pick.
This year, five prospects confirmed meetings with the Red Wings. Although more meetings likely went down, let's take a look at those who shared details.
Victor Eklund
A high-motor winger from Sweden, combines elite skating and scoring with a high compete level. Despite his smaller frame, he thrives in puck battles and impressed at the World Juniors. Detroit is no stranger to that kind of player.
Last season, Eklund won the Championship in the SHL with Djurgårdens, scoring 31 points in 42 games.
Carter Bear
Bear overcame adversity this season, scoring 40 goals despite missing several games due to an Achilles cut. He also impressed scouts with his compete level:
"I think I want to be really known as a tenacious guy. Want to win every battle. Want to win every shift."

Lynden Lakovic
The 6-foot-4, 200 pounds winger is an interesting combination of size and skills, but some scouts weren't impressed by his physical implication. However, the player is aware of it and wants to draw inspiration from playoff performers like Matthew Knies to raise his compete level.
Justin Carbonneau
Though there are questions about his hockey sense, his gritty attitude and scoring touch are undeniable:
"Being hungry. Just always want to be better, want more - want to score more goals, more hits. That pain, that feeling of getting hit or throwing a hit is always a good feeling for me.

It's just being more consistent in that way. I'm willing to block a shot with my teeth if I have to.

I'll go to the dentist if I need to. That's not a problem. It's just being more consistent as an 18-year-old. I'll be better at 20, for sure."

Cole Reschny
Following an impressive playoff run where he scored 25 points in 11 games, Reschny is a fast, skilled, and smart center that could be a great fit in Detroit:
"I think I just found my stride. By no means was I playing bad or struggling. I think it was just a tough little stretch there in the first half, and I guess after the Top Prospects games and Christmas break, I really started playing good and better and better, and I didn't look back from there on out.

I'm playing fast, I'm playing with that edge. It's pretty cliché for some guys, but I think I play with a bit of pissiness, and I think that plays into my style: playing hard, I'm a centerman, I'm all around the ice. I think when I'm playing that way and I've got that confidence, I'm going, I'm a threat offensively."
Details and updates will follow.
