Detroit Red Wings organization completes goaltending transaction
On Thursday, March 13, the Detroit Red Wings organization revealed they are investigating their goaltending options following an announcement regarding a recalled goaltender, Jan Bednar.
The Detroit Red Wings acquired a former
Chicago Blackhawks starting-goaltender,
Petr Mrazek, over the 2024/25 NHL trade deadline, and it seems as though the organization is continuing their search for key-goaltenders, as it was revealed a goalie has been recruited to the Red Wings organization.
His last campaign as a rookie with the Toledo, this 22-year old acquired a 22-7-2 record with two shutouts, achieving a 2.66 GAA, and a .901 save percentage within the duration of 36 games.
These stats have clearly been recognized as Bednar makes his way into Detroit's American Hockey League team.
However, with the Detroit Red Wings confirming this recall, a Grand Rapids goaltender will have to be the odd man out, and this will either mean a player has been demoted or worse, has endured an injury.
Despite the lack of insight regarding which goaltender will be absent from the lineup, we can expect
Sebastian Cossa to make his appearance, as he earned recognition from the league for his stellar play.
The American Hockey League released Wednesday's AHL Three Stars of the Night this morning.
Regardless of the organizations decisions of which goaltender will be absent from the Grand Rapids lineup, we can expect to see a new face representing Detroit's net.
