Dylan Larkin delivers emotional response when asked about Johnny Gaudreau on anniversary of his passing

It's been a year since the passing of Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau, and the Detroit Red Wings' Dylan Larkin has honored the memory of their passing.
A tragic accident took place on the roads of New Jersey last year, as brothers Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau lost their lives as a result of an alleged drunk driver.
The duo were going to be groomsmen in their sister's wedding.

Detroit Red Wings Captain Dylan Larkin would take the time to honor Johnny Gaudreau's memory at this week's 2026 USA Hockey Olympic Orientation camp.
"I just wish them (the Gaudreau family) nothing but the best," Larkin said via NHL.com. "I know that Friday is going to be hard, and it's continued to be hard all year."
Gaudreau would've been a shoo-in for this year's Olympic roster as Team USA will be traveling to compete in the 2026 Olympics in Milano-Cortina.
Larkin and Gaudreau had been teammates on previous World Championship teams in 2018, 2019. They also wore the same uniform in 2016 during the World Cup fo Hockey.
He'd remark on the emptiness felt by his absence in the locker room this season during the Four Nations Face-Off:
«I guess what I was trying to say Is it's going to be weird with him not there,» Larkin explained. «And the staff, everyone knows him. All the guys played with him, whether with their clubs or with USA."
Larkin and Gaudreau may not have been regular teammates, but the evidence of a solid relationship, with a strong bond, is here.
