Major trade talks with Mason McTavish and the Anaheim Ducks confirmed

According to recent reports from David Pagnotta and The Fourth Period, the Anaheim Ducks are taking trade calls on Mason McTavish; are the Red Wings one team involved?
The Detroit Red Wings need a punch down the middle in order to improve their chances in the Atlantic Division, and Mason McTavish has been one player linked to the Atlantic Division team this summer.
If a trade like this went through, it'd be astonishing.
David Pagnotta Confirms Trade Talks for Mason McTavish Involving Multiple NHL teams
According to NHL Insider David Pagnotta, the Anaheim Ducks have discussed the RFA with multiple NHL teams.
Given the proximity of Pat Verbeek to Steve Yzerman via their past in Detroit and Tampa Bay we have to assume (speculate) that the Red Wings are one team involved.
As Yzerman's mandate is to build a team worthy of the playoffs, and with the assets Detroit has, they could certainly make a deal happen.
Though the price that Yzerman may have to pay is high, it'd be worth it:

The Red Wings should keep tabs on Mason McTavish as the story develops further.
McTavish is a former 3rd-overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and has a sizable frame at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, which helps him create space on the ice.
The center has played a total of 229 career games in the NHL and scored a total of 140 points (60-80), and last season scored 52 points (22-30) as a third-liner while serving on the power play.
The Red Wings could end up moving Axel Sandin-Pellikka if a deal were to go through.
