Tony DeAngelo's Future in the NHL: With the Detroit Red Wings?
The New York Islanders would receive a draft pick for their rebuild and Erik Gustafsson as a placeholder in the meantime, while the Red Wings would receive Tony DeAngelo, who scored 19 points (4-15) in 35 games with a -11.
The defenseman would be a cheap addition at only a $1.75 million AAV cost. For a player who could add depth on the 2nd power-play unit, it might be a steal if he can contribute more than 40 points this season.
DeAngelo's career high is 53 points (15-38) as part of the New York Rangers, a locker room where he wouldn't last long.
Is this the final fresh start he needs to stick in the NHL?
