James Van Riemsdyk sends a message to the Maple Leafs ahead of Red Wings debut Monday

Prior to Detroit Red Wings' James Van Riemsdyk making his official debut on Monday, October 13, he sent a message to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
During the Detroit Red Wings' offseason, they made sure to bring in a multitude of new players via free agency and trade.
One of the acquisitions made by general manager Steve Yzerman was veteran James Van Riemsdyk, who will hit 1,100 NHL games in just 18 more.
This veteran will be making his Detroit Red Wings debut on Monday, October 13, against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Scotiabank Arena.
Funny enough, this longtime NHL talent played six seasons as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he had some words to say before getting on the ice with an opposing team.

Van Riemsdyk has officially issued a statement regarding making his debut in Toronto.
"Every time I get a chance to play in that building, it's very nostalgic for me," he said of potentially making his Red Wings debut at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena. "I really enjoyed my time there, and it's just a great city and great fanbase, a great building to play in. Any time you get to go in there, it's always fun. You circle it on the calendar and get excited for it."
He continued:
"This is what I love to do. To go out there, and whenever that is, to join the guys and get into live action, I'm really looking forward to it," van Riemsdyk continued. "We'll see when that is."
