The Detroit Red Wings have lost a vital forward today as a result of a troubling hit from one Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman.
Today,
against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Scotiabank Arena, the Detroit Red Wings held their own.
It was announced today via the Detroit Red Wings that Lucas Raymond would leave the game as a result of an upper-body injury on the boards, thanks to the recklessness and undisciplined play of Chris Tanev.
Lucas Raymond injured, JVR scores first goal as a Red Wing
This has worked to their advantage, as they'd been suffering the Red Wings' defense all day.
It wasn't until the third that they'd break through the gaps in the coverage, as
Bobby McMann and
Matthew Knies would combine for a goal.
The Red Wings opened the goal-scoring in the game, with
Dylan Larkin scoring the first goal of the game 18:55 into the 1st period, with assists by Lucas Raymond and
Alex DeBrincat.
No update on Lucas Raymond's status at the moment, but if I were Dylan Larkin, I'd be focused on making the Maple Leafs' life difficult from here on out.
