New insight has unfolded regarding where the Toronto Maple Leafs' top UFA, Mitch Marner, is expected to sign during this year's free agency, and it's shocking.
The National Hockey League's most intriguing forward to hit the open market this offseason is undoubtedly the Toronto Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner, and a recent announcement has revealed where fans can expect this star-player to land this summer.
Mitch Marner's teammates, who are suggested to not be his teammates for much longer, dropped a major hint regarding this forward's next destination.

A top NHL analyst and insider, Elliotte Friedman, revealed recently on his «32 Thoughts» podcast that Marner's current Maple Leafs teammates suspect that this young forward will be heading somewhere out West this summer.
«I know some of his teammates have suspected, Leafs teammates have suspected, that Marner is going to go West.»
Recently, teams included in the Marner discussion these past few weeks have been the Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Utah Mammoth, and Los Angeles Kings.
And although it is uncertain where to expect this young forward to land this offseason, acquiring Marner may not be impossible for the Detroit Red Wings.
As Friedman has also stated that Mitch Marner could actually end up surprising fans with a shorter-term deal, similar to what his teammate, Auston Matthews, did with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

That being said, Marner's future is completely uncertain, however, the Detroit Red Wings' chances of acquiring this forward is not yet over.
