A new trade offer surfaced, sending the Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin to the Minnesota Wild.

At the end of the 2024-25 season, the Detroit Red Wings' captain Dylan Larkin made a massive declaration in the media stating that the team couldn't make the playoffs due to Steve Yzerman not making any moves at the trade deadline:
"I felt the group kind of - we didn't gain any momentum from the trade deadline, and guys were kind of down about it, so it'd be nice to add something and bring a little bit of a spark on the ice and maybe a morale boost as well."

Then, Yzerman replied, adding fuel to the fire:
"It's been talked about since the trade deadline. Obviously, I've addressed Dylan's comments directly with Dylan, and I will not elaborate on that in this room. If Dylan wants to share what I had to say with him, he's more than welcome to

Did I get a lot of feedback, or any feedback for that matter, on our morale taking a dip? No, I didn't. I will say I'm counting on our best players, our leaders, to give us a little bit of a morale boost, that is what they are paid for and that is the expectation for them."
Since then, many rumors have emerged about Yzerman considering trading Larkin. In a new report, an official proposal was made.

Trade Pitch Between Detroit Red Wings And Minnesota Wild Involving Larkin

According to Heavy.com, the Minnesota Wild could be interested in getting Larkin from the Red Wings and could be ready to ship away Marco Rossi to land him.
Check out the full proposal here:
Red Wings get:

Marco Rossi
2026 third-round pick

Wild get:

Dylan Larkin
2026 fifth-round pick

Yzerman would likely consider that trade. Parting ways with a veteran to get a very promising forward fits his managing style, and following the small rift at the end of last season, he could be tempted to pull the trigger on that move.
However, Rossi signed a three-year contract extension in the summer, putting an end to most rumors involving him.
Now, his cap-friendly three-year, $5M AAV contract makes him an even more attractive target for teams.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Larkin and Rossi in the coming months. Stay tuned.
