NHL insider reveals the remaining teams in on Anaheim Ducks' Mason McTavish: There's a surprise new favorite
An NHL insider revealed which teams are remaining in the derby to get the Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish on the trade market.
As we get closer to the start of the training camp, fans of NHL teams in a position to land someone like
McTavish on the market are eager to see how this will unfold.
McTavish could help a team on the verge of breaking out to reach the next step. While this includes the Anaheim Ducks, reports suggest teams are still showing interest.
Montreal, Detroit, and Carolina Among Six Teams Still In On Mason McTavish
For Steve Yzerman and the Wings to land McTavish, they'll need to make better offers than five other teams: the Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, and Philadelphia Flyers.
Sportsnet's report suggested a package including Axel Sandin-Pellikka
could be enticing for the Ducks, although they could acquire a player of his skill set from other organizations as well.
In my opinion, if McTavish ends up getting traded, the Canadiens, the Canucks, and the Wings are the only two teams in the list who could send an interesting enough package to get him.
But I believe the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres should also be included.
Both teams have great trade assets and cap space and could benefit from adding top-six talent.
Last season, McTavish scored 52 points in 76 games with the Ducks.
