Official announcement from the Detroit Red Wings and several changes are confirmed
An official announcement from the Detroit Red Wings organization confirmed several changes ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season.
After nine years of failing to reach the playoffs, players will be under a lot of pressure to win, avoiding extending the streak to a full decade.
With the regular season set to start in six weeks, the team announced massive schedule changes for a few crucial games.
Red Wings Make Massive Scheduling Announcement Ahead Of Next Season
The playoff race will be tight this year, especially in the Red Wings' division. Games against teams in the same division will be crucial all season long.
In a major announcement, the Wings announced that two of those games scheduled in the upcoming season will start at a different time than initially planned.
In addition, two games against Metropolitan Division rivals, and another one against a Western Conference powerhouse, were also rescheduled.

"The November 28 game against the Lightning will now start at 12:00 p.m. instead of 1:00 p.m. ET.
The December 23 game against the Stars will now start at 6:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. ET.
The December 28 game against the Maple Leafs will now start at 7:00 p.m. instead of 5:00 p.m. ET.
The January 29 game against the Capitals will now start at 7:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. ET.
The April 9 game against the Flyers will now start at 6:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. ET."
The team also announced that 17 games will be broadcast nationally on TNT, ESPN, and ABC:
