Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane shared insights on his health after spending time away with an injury.

For the first time since he was injured on October 17th in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Patrick Kane took part in a practice session with his teammates.
Kane missed the last nine games, and echoes of a potential return either Friday night against the New York Rangers, or Sunday against the Chicago Blackhawks, are running around.
However, even the player himself doesn't know exactly when he'll be able to get back into the lineup to help his team win.

Patrick Kane Opens Up On His Health Before Back-To-Back Matchups Against Former Teams

The Detroit Red Wings scored only five goals in their last three games. Patrick Kane's absence hurt them. Despite missing nine of this year's 14 games played, he's still tied for 7th on his team for points, with five, which highlights the lack of offensive depth on the team.
Fortunately for the Wings, Kane has progressed a lot in the past week and a return appears imminent.
Now, the veteran is happy that he took time to heal, but is eager to return, adding he'll see how he feels Friday during his press conference:
"Sometimes you need some time. Maybe originally, especially right after it happened, we didn't think it was as bad as maybe the next day. After that, it was just kind of seeing where the symptoms were and where I was at.

The team's played 14 games, and I've only played in five. It's never fun to miss that much. But happy that I've taken the time and am seeing the progress now."

"I think I'm feeling pretty good. It's nice to get back in practice with the team. I feel pretty good and we'll go from there and see how it is tomorrow."

"What are you going to do? I think you look at the positives from it. Thankfully, it wasn't worse, and I'm not out an extended, or a longer period, of time. Happy that I've been able to progress, especially the last week or so, and happy with where I'm at. But definitely after those five games, you get injured, it's not a great feeling, so I'm itching to get back into action."

Kane would likely love to play tomorrow and Sunday, as the Wings face his two former teams, the Hawks and the Rangers.
