The Detroit Red Wings and Patrick Kane are set for their match against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday and look to course-correct while on the hunt for a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Patrick Kane and the Detroit Red Wings' season has been anything but consistent. There would be a turnover in the coaching department as GM Steve Yzerman fired Derek Lalonde, and his replacement, Todd McLellan, seeks to improve the team as a whole.
That requires buy-in from the Red Wings, and what better player to lead the team into a new era of winning than Patrick Kane.
«It is what it is, right? Like after [Saturday's win], now we're going into it,» Patrick Kane said about the Red Wings' upcoming slate. «We were talking about ityou win one game, you're one point out. Suddenly, the Rangers and Canadiens win, and you're three points out. So that's just kind of the nature of the situation we're in. You can look at it and study it, but it comes down to winning hockey games ourselves. Obviously, we're going to need to have a good record here down the stretch, but we need to focus on tomorrow and try to try to get the two points.»

Someone whose won three Stanley Cups with another original-six franchise knows what it takes to come from behind and win.
He'll have to conjure those forces again to take down the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, who are on a nine-game winning streak.
While the Wings have struggled to put together any kind of consistency in wins. In their last ten games, they've gone 4-6-0, and have to figure out how to solve a team that is, by all means, an underdog in the West.
The Wings will head to the Blues' home of the Enterprise Center and will have to shut down dynamic two-way winger Dylan Holloway, center Robert Thomas, and Jordan Kyrou if they're going to have any shot of breaking the streak.
«They've won nine in a row, and someone's probably going to stop that at some point,» Kane said about the Blues. «Hopefully it's us and it gives us a lot of momentum and confidence the rest of the way. It'll be a great test for us. They're firing on all cylinders right now and it seems like they have been ever since they hired Jim Montgomery as head coach."

Jim Montgomery's tenure in Boston ended arguably too early, and with an 8-9-3 record, it may have been too soon.
Can the Red Wings and Patrick Kane shut down the Blues, who currently hold the second wild-card spot in the West?
Kane has 52 points (19 goals, 33 assists) and could bring out "Showtime" tomorrow and put an end to the Blues' dreams of a playoff run.
