Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane has been on a tear lately, and head coach Todd McLellan has sent a big message to the 36-year old former Stanley Cup Champion
Patrick Kane has been the most consistent Red Wings as of late. Todd McLellan, has noticed how great the 36-year-old star is doing as the Red Wings try to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In March, he's tallied up 3 goals and 8 assists, leaving him at 46 points in 57 games this season.
Kane had hip surgery in 2023, something no other NHL player had done before.
Head coach McLellan, who wasn't with the team during Kane's surgery, is impressed by how good Kane is on the ice.
«Kane still loves hockey. He comes to play, wants the puck, and loves making things happen. It's not always perfect, but he's excited to get back out there every time. He's won Cups and will be in the Hall of Fame, but he's still hungry to win.»
This huge win against Vegas brought the Red Wings closer to a playoff spot.
They're now just two points behind the New York Rangers, who hold the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
But Detroit needs to keep winning to make it count, and it all starts with a big game against the red hot
Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
They haven't won two games in a row since late February.
