Ironically, included on this projected roster is the Detroit Red Wings captain, Dylan Larkin, who could center Mat Boldy and Kyle Connor.
Alex DeBrincat believes that he belongs on Team USA's roster this year, but it seems as if Bill Guerin, who is the general manager, hasn't been convinced.
Last season, he scored 70 points (39-31) in 82 games for the Red Wings and is a reliable producer for the team.
"Obviously I believe in myself," DeBrincat said this week. "I believe I should be on that team. I feel good right now. With that being said, there's a lot of good players. I'm sure they have some hard, tough choices."
It seems as if Team USA could be heading up against Canada without one of the league's premier scorers in the NHL, DeBrincat. A huge mistake.
We thought DeBrincat made a good case for the Olympics earlier in the year, but he's quickly fallen off projections.
For refrence, DeBrincat isn't the only American-born forward projected to be snubbed, as Cole Caufield of the Montreal Canadiens is also absent from the list.
