The Anaheim Ducks owners, Henry and Susan Samueli, honored current Detroit Red Wings goalie John Gibson with a heartwarming gift upon his return to the West Coast.
John Gibson played the majority of his NHL career wearing an Anaheim Ducks jersey. He'd be a part of some special teams that made trips to the postseason.
Despite that, he'd never have a legitimate shot at a Stanley Cup run and is using this run with the Red Wings to give him a chance to win.
We all start somewhere, before we end up where we belong, whether temporarily or permanently.
Upon his
return to Anaheim, when the Red Wings faced the Ducks, owners Henry and Susan Samueli gifted him a print of the legendary goaltender in honor of his contributions to the team.
The owners have memorialized him for all that he's done for the team. Here you can see the amazing piece of artwork, followed by the goalie embracing them both.
John Gibson's NHL Career with the Anaheim Ducks
The former 39th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft has played a total of 513 games in his career.
506 of those were with the Anaheim Ducks; his career record so far is 208-220-63, 2.89 GAA, and a .910 save percentage.
He's a former gold medal winner with Team USA during the 2013 WJC and won a bronze in the World Championships that same year.
Gibson should've won a Stanley Cup, but he has never had the right team in front of him to do it.
But with the Red Wings running hot at 1st in the Atlantic? It seems like the playoffs should be in discussion.
