Detroit Red Wings fans should be excited, as legend Sergei Fedorov has provided an exciting update on one of the team's top prospects in the KHL.

Sergei Fedorov has provided fans with a legacy of multiple championships in Hockeytown and continues to serve the team through vicarious methods.
Though he's no longer coaching CSKA Moscow, he holds a position on the board and has a hand in developing Detroit Red Wings prospect Dmitry Buchelnikov.
Fedorov has gotten to see the prospect in raw form in the KHL, as he gets to observe the team from above the ice, and has complimented Buchelnikov's talents.
«Yeah, he's a goal scorer, definitely,» Fedorov told Detroit Hockey Now in a telephone interview from Moscow. «He's one of those. He can make a play, too. Make a couple of passes.

«So offensively, really no problem. He will get his probably 20, 30 goals here, I hope, because he plays power play almost every game (and gets) three, four chances.»

Dmitry Buchelnikov, a 53rd Overall Pick, "A Goalscorer" Says Sergei Fedorov

Buchelnikov has scored 9 points (5-4) in 14 games with CSKA, ranking him third in scoring on the KHL club.
For the majority of Red Wings fans, we don't get a chance to see the games live; we just get to see his exploits through highlights and reviews from third-party sources.
Fedorov can be that unique source for fans, as he can offer the kind of analysis regarding Buchlenikov's development we wouldn't find elsewhere.
«The hockey we play, it's men's hockey,» Fedorov said. «It's responsible hockey.»

At 5-foot-10 and 169 pounds, Buchelnikov also has some filling out to do physically.

«He's not thin, but he's certainly not very tall,» Fedorov said. «Yeah, he's a small forward.»

It's likely that he's playing his last season in the KHL with CSKA Moscow, as his contract expires at the end of this season.
He could turn pro and suit up for the Red Wings next season; depending on how he feels, it could be earlier.
He comes with Fedorov's seal of approval.
