The Detroit Red Wings revealed unfortunate news regarding Patrick Kane's injury timeline ahead of the upcoming back-to-back games.
Todd McLellan met today with the media for a press conference ahead of the Detroit Red Wings' two-game road trip, with back-to-back games against the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders.
Even though the two teams set to meet the Wings on the ice haven't been performing well since the season started, and the Wings are on a five-game winning streak, the challenge could be more complicated than it looks for McLellan and his men, as they'll need to play without one of their top scorers: Patrick Kane.
Indeed, during his press conference, the coach shared an update on Patrick Kane's condition.

Today, McLellan announced that Kane will miss the two upcoming games and that he will be reevaluated before Saturday's game against the St. Louis Blues.
The team made the news official in a post on X:
"Per Coach McLellan, Patrick Kane will not make the trip to Buffalo, will be reevaluated ahead of Saturday's game at home."
The 36-year-old veteran signed a one-year, $3M deal with the Detroit Red Wings this summer.
In five games this season, he has tallied five points, including two goals.
The Wings will need to be careful as they face two opponents hungry for victory amid a tough start to the season.
