Red Wings reveal unfortunate news: Patrick Kane's injury timeline addressed

Todd McLellan met today with the media for a press conference ahead of the Detroit Red Wings' two-game road trip, with back-to-back games against the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders.

Even though the two teams set to meet the Wings on the ice haven't been performing well since the season started, and the Wings are on a five-game winning streak, the challenge could be more complicated than it looks for McLellan and his men, as they'll need to play without one of their top scorers: Patrick Kane.

Indeed, during his press conference, the coach shared an update on Patrick Kane's condition.

Kane, the former Chicago Blackhawks forward, missed the last game against the Edmonton Oilers due to an upper-body injury that occurred in the matchup versus the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Today, McLellan announced that Kane will miss the two upcoming games and that he will be reevaluated before Saturday's game against the St. Louis Blues.

The 36-year-old veteran signed a one-year, $3M deal with the Detroit Red Wings this summer.

In five games this season, he has tallied five points, including two goals.
