Red Wings vs Blue Jackets Stadium Series Game Allegedly Rigged Following Footage Surfacing That Says It All

The Detroit Red Wings and their fans have every right to be fuming right now, as they were once again given by far the short end of the stick when it comes to officiating.

Detroit lost a heartbreaker to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Ohio Stadium, who beat them for the 2nd time inside of a week in regulation. Justin Danforth scored the go-ahead goal for Columbus with just under 2 minutes left in regulation.

But Danforth blatantly high sticked defenseman Simon Edvinsson in clear sight of the on-ice referee, who elected not to call a penalty.

After the goal was scored and protests from the Red Wings, the officials all huddled together - and still didn't call a penalty.

Danforth also wasn't penalized after delivering a questionable high hit on Elmer Soderblom earlier in the game:

And very understandably so, Red Wings fans felt completely shortchanged.

The Red Wings badly outshot the Blue Jackets, and yet trailed 3-1 heading into the 3rd period.

Goals from Patrick Kane and the 2nd of the game from Alex DeBrincat tied the score and appeared to ensure that Detroit would be able to gain at least a single point in the standings.

It was a gut punch for Detroit, who remains in the 2nd Wild Card playoff spot but with several other teams right in their rear view mirror.
