The Detroit Red Wings and Todd McLellan have been gifted a win tonight by Sheldon Keefe and the New Jersey Devils, as the lineup looks a little green tonight.
The New Jersey Devils have decided to give the
Red Wings a win tonight. NHL Insider Ken Kal posted on "X" the Devils' line rushes today, and if it looks like anything, it's a total Red Wings victory.
Instead of the usual superstars we see in the lineup nightly, the Devils have decided to let their prospects run the ice for the night. Isn't that quaint?
Not to mention, the 1st-line that is practically the team's third line at best! Thanks, Sheldon Keefe!
The
Red Wings and New Jersey Devils will matchup tonight at 6:30 PM. The Red Wings come into the matchup with a record of 38-35-7 and 6th in the Atlantic Division.
Unfortunately, for this late in the season, the Red Wings will need to utilize moral victories in order to rebuild confidence and team morale, as they've been unable to secure a spot in the NHL playoffs this year.
While the New Jersey Devils are 42-32-7, 3rd in the Metropolitan Division and bound for the playoffs, and will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1st-round of the playoffs.
If the Red Wings cannot defeat the Devils' third-line(s), leading the way perhaps, GM Steve Yzerman should find a new job.
The Detroit Red Wings last game of the season will take place tomorrow at 6:00 PM against the Toronto Maple Leafs in an Original Six matchup.
