The Detroit Red Wings have addressed a new injury update in their organization involving goaltender Cam Talbot, following another injury of netminder Petr Mrazek this week.
It's all falling apart in the month of March for the Detroit Red Wings, and with a recent injury update from head coach Todd McLellan, things are seemingly set to get much worse.
Following Petr Mrazek's injury news, another goaltender has been sidelined due to his health.
Goaltender Cam Talbot has reportedly tweaked something and was unable to suit up for Tuesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
McLellan states that to find out the severity of his injury is the same case as Mrazek, they are waiting to return home (to Detroit) to further evaluate.
We got to get him home and like everybody else, evaluate when we get there.
The injury of Talbot and Mrazek at the same time forced Steve Yzerman to complete an emergency roster move, calling up their former 15th overall pick, goaltender Sebastian Cossa, from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday.
McLellan now has a crucial decision underneath his authority, does he give Cossa his first NHL start for Thursday's must-win game against the Ottawa Senators? Or Does he fall back on Alex Lyon, who has had shakey performances as of late, winning 1 of his past 5 games in goal.
