Due to the fact the Detroit Red Wings 2024/25 NHL season was an unfortunate one as they failed to pursue any postseason contentions for their ninth straight season, the team is in dire need to dissect who will be their trade candidates for this year's offseason.

There's an expectation that the team will make adjustments to their roster due to their underwhelming season, and speculations are on the rise regarding who fans can expect to be the next offseason trade candidates, three in particular.
Let's discuss.
This one may not be very surprising as the fit between the Red Wings and Tarasenko was just not there this season, and because of this, the 33-year old's name has been floating around the rumour mill since the NHL Trade Deadline in March.
Although a deal did not come out during the deadline, it is still very likely Detroit will be open to dealing him this summer, and there could definitely be interest in him due to his past success as he accumulated 11 goals, and 33 points within 80 games.
Berggren is another Detroit Red Wings forward who could absolutely be a trade candidates this offseason. Similar to Tarasenko, the 24-year old has been a subject to trade rumours in the past as well, and it might just be the best option for both the Red Wings and Berggren to part ways.
The 2018 second-round pick, could definitely use a change of scenery at this point in his career. The young winger has scored 12 goals, 24 points, and a plus/minus of -13 within the span of 75, and although this record is decent, the Red Wings may want to investigate some forward's to replace Berggren's position.
The Red Wings may strive to pursue an alternative for Gustafsson, as the 33-year old defenseman's struggle to find his fit during his first season in Detroit, with an underwhelming two goals, 16 assists, and a plus/minus of -19 in 60 games.
As the Wings continue to strive towards their re-build, the team is seeking more depth, which this defenseman currently lacks.
