Head coach Todd McLellan addressed a noticeable trend amongst the current Detroit Red Wings group.

Who would've thought that the Red Wings would be among the best teams in the NHL this season?
After years of struggles, the team is finally offering an interesting on-ice product to the fans that gives them a reason to show up to Little Caesars Arena to cheer for their team.

Todd McLellan Highlights Noticeable Trend In His Group That Suggests Great Things Are Coming In Detroit

With a 9-5-0 record, the Red Wings will compete for the first spot in the Atlantic Division tonight, and although it's still early in the season, it shows that the team has reached another level.
At the same point last season, the Red Wings had a 6-7-1 record.
The team went a long way from that time, but it was only a year ago from now.
According to Todd McLellan, the team has a trait that all championship-contending organizations have: resiliency.
The Wings were able to bounce back after losing games, with their worst streak being two losses.
The coach highlighted that the team bounced back after losing to the Anaheim Ducks, and that they competed hard against the Golden Knights in a great effort to end the trip on a high note:
"Bounced back after a game in Anaheim where we didn't play as well (5-2 loss followed by 3-2 shootout win in San Jose).

So, the resiliency, the mental drive for the group ended in Vegas. I've been on teams where sometimes that game five or six of a road trip is if it goes your way, great. If it doesn't, then you're done and you're getting home.

It's just that demanding. And that wasn't the case with us. Right to the last minute we left what we had out there. It wasn't enough, but at least we had it."

If the team is able to maintain that rhythm all season long, playoff hockey will finally return to Detroit.
