Two massive players emerge on the trade block for the Boston Bruins: Steve Yzerman must get a deal done
The Boston Bruins have announced that they will be continuing their retool, as other players hit the trade market.
Those players would be Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt.
Zacha is a veteran who has filled in as a 1st-line player on a lineup that's been anemic offensively.
Mittelstadt was acquired at the end of this past season.
Both players would be ideal 2nd-line options for the Red Wings, as the team is lacking the proper depth down the middle for a playoff run.
While Kasper has shown his chops this season, you couldn't help but notice how great Zacha played in 2023-24, scoring 59 points (21-38).
While
Casey Mittelstadt is a less-than-desirable option, he'd be an affordable one for the Red Wings and has a large amount of room for growth at the young age of 26.
Mittelstadt makes $5.75 million AAV and scored a total of 40 points (15-25) in 63 games last season.
He'd be ideal for the Red Wings' rebuild timeline, but as a win-now piece? Zacha would be ideal for Steve Yzerman to acquire.
Zacha would be more affordable, making only $4.75 million AAV, and can easily slot in on both 1st- and 2nd-line roles, as he has in Boston.
The Red Wings only have
Dylan Larkin as the team's true 1C in Detroit, and any move that could strengthen that depth means a better chance at the playoffs.
