The Detroit Red Wings' Prospects in Grand Rapids won't get a shot to play anymore playoff games after the Texas Stars won the best-of-five series in the AHL.

The Detroit Red Wings' prospects in Grand Rapids will have to look to next year if they want to make a deep run in the Calder Cup playoffs.
This year, they were eliminated from the playoffs by the Texas Stars despite a convincing four-goal lead, which the Stars would come back from. The team would mount a comeback in a 5-4 double OT win against the Griffins in Game 3 of the Central Division Semifinals.
The Griffins wouldn't be able to overcome the series sweep even with the talent available with Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, Amadeus Lombardi, Dominik Shine, and Sebastian Cossa leading the way.
Lombardi would lead the night with a 2-point (1 goal, 1 assist) contribution, while Brandsgg-Nygard, Dominik Shine, and Nate Danielson would add assists against the Stars.
Despite their lack of ability to secure the victory, there are some bright spots to look at in lieu of the Game 3 loss.
Sebastian Cossa made 44 saves that night, while the Griffins scored by committee as the prospects stayed in the fight till the end.
The only trouble is, now they're playing hockey for the year. That is, unless some of them got an invite to join their respective countries in the IIHF World Championships.

Sebastian Cossa finished the 2024-2025 season in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins with a record of 21-15-5, 2.45 GAA, and a .911 save percentage.
