Detroit Red Wings acquire Anaheim Ducks star: A major development has just been confirmed

A major development hinted at a cheap, interesting acquisition the Detroit Red Wings could make in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.
After trading away Petr Mrazek and two draft picks to the Anaheim Ducks in return for goaltender John Gibson, the Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman could be looking to make another significant acquisition from the Anaheim Ducks.
Indeed, a new rumor states that the Wings could be looking to go after Ducks' forward Troy Terry.
The Ducks have a lot of depth in the forward group, with several younger players likely to be NHL ready in a few years.
With that in mind, Troy Terry becomes expendable.
In Anaheim, the team could be interested in adding a defenseman to its lineup, and the Wings could offer them exactly that in return for Terry.
Per Heavy.com, the Wings could ship Jonatan Berggren and a 2026 first-round pick in return for Terry.
In a recent interview, Yzerman mentioned how the free agent market has been saturated because all teams want to add players, hinting that if a trade for Terry would occur, it would be in return for another talented player:
"Anybody can go and look at the list of the potential free agents and see there aren't that many guys you would think will have an impact. There are very few this year, for whatever reason"
"It's just there aren't a lot of options right now. Everybody wants, the teams I'm talking to, they want players. Just like we want players. What do we have to offer? I don't want to trade our core players. You're looking to add to your team, (using) future assets for that. Right now teams are all looking to add players to their teams. Kind of the same thing we're trying to do."

Targeting Terry would be a smart decision for Yzerman, but obviously, the Ducks won't let him leave that easily and the Wings would need to part ways with interesting assets to get him.
