The Detroit Red Wings will have a range of prospects to choose from with their 13th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft which will take place on June 27, but an insider has revealed who they may select, if still available.

Once again, the Red Wings were disappointed in the 2025 Draft Lottery, slipping from their expected 12th slot to 13th despite a low chance of moving back.
This marks 35 years since Detroit last selected 3rd or higher, with their most recent high selection being Keith Primeau in 1990.
GM Steve Yzerman will still have solid options to bolster the team's rebuild, but according to Max Bultman of The Athletic, a top candidate is Soo Greyhounds forward Brady Martin from the OHL.
Sportsnet's scouting report highlights his appeal:
Martin never takes shortcuts. At 178 pounds, he plays bigger than his size, finishing checks, battling in tough areas, driving to the net, and making life difficult for opponents.

Martin's ideal comparison is Florida Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk.
If Martin is unavailable or the team prioritizes defense, Bultman points to Barrie Colts defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson from the OHL.
Other forwards in consideration include Carter Bear of the WHL's Everett Silvertips and Justin Carbonneau of the QMJHL's Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
