According to a recent report from NHLTR, Erik Karlsson could soon be on the move to the Detroit Red Wings.
Analyst Rob Couch notes that the noise surrounding Erik Karlsson could soon be settled, and it involves the Detroit Red Wings.
"One of the players who has had the most noise surrounding him for the past year is Erik Karlsson. The Pittsburgh Penguins are very clearly entering into a rebuild and talk of even Sidney Crosby moving on is coming up more and more. More big moves haven't been made because the price has to be good enough, but there just may be a team desperate enough after a poor offseason to execute a trade for Karlsson soon."

Penguins analyst reveals the Red Wings are favorites to land Erik Karlsson
According to Josh Yohe, a trusted source with The Athletic, who covers the Pittsburgh Penguins, he's hearing a lot of noise surrounding the Red Wings and Karlsson.
"I wouldn't be shocked if you hear his name pop up sooner rather than later. Detroit is the team I've heard the most."

The Red Wings are moving in a much different direction than the Penguins, as they are in search of snapping their longtime playoff drought.
While the Penguins are approaching a full-on retooling process, recent reports suggest Crosby could be on the move.
