The Detroit Red Wings have troubling news regarding their prospect pipeline; two goaltenders are down and out in the AHL.

Any professional hockey organization needs to build for resiliency.
Although a fancy buzzword used by corporations, the idea in itself is valid, as the Red Wings have found themselves in unknown territory with an unfortunate announcement.
The injury bug has hit the Red Wings' goaltender pipeline.
Sebastian Cossa suffered an injury in practice this week, and Michal Postava would soon follow afterward.
"Cossa has posted strong stats in the four starts that he's made, going a perfect 4-0 with an impressive 1.75 goals-against average, a .939 save percentage, and a shutout."

Cossa, like Postava, is currently getting reps in the AHL as they continue to develop their game at a professional level.
However, that'll be difficult this week for Cossa, who has been placed on "day-to-day" status by the Grand Rapids Griffins.
With Cossa's absence, the team has assigned goaltender Carter Gylander to the AHL from the Toledo Walleye.

The Detroit Red Wings prospect pipeline takes a major hit

Michal Postava, a Czech-born goaltender who was signed during the summer, is also out on injury.
Postava played 5 games for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins this season before being taken out of the lineup unexpectedly due to injury.
His 4-0 record, with a 2.22 GAA and a .934 save percentage, helped the Griffins stay consistent on their latest win streak.
This news came at the worst time for a Griffins team that had a solid tandem in the net at the minor-league level.
