The Detroit Red Wings organization announced who will be the starting goalie for Friday night's game against the New York Rangers.

This season, the Red Wings have shown that they have the ability to bounce back after losses. So far, they have only had a two-game losing streak once, winning all but one game after each of their losses.
McLellan highlighted that trend in a recent press conference:
«Bounced back after a game in Anaheim where we didn't play as well (5-2 loss followed by 3-2 shootout win in San Jose). So, the resiliency, the mental drive for the group ended in Vegas.

I've been on teams where sometimes that game five or six of a road trip is if it goes your way, great. If it doesn't, then you're done and you're getting home. It's just that demanding. And that wasn't the case with us. Right to the last minute we left what we had out there.»

Tonight, the team will look to continue that trend. After Tuesday's tough 1-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, tonight's game against the New York Rangers is a must-win for the Wings.
At today's practice, we learned who'll be the starting goaltender entrusted with beating the Rangers.

Cam Talbot To Get Tonight's Start Against the Rangers

Despite a strong performance from John Gibson against the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday, where he allowed only one goal on 34 shots, Cam Talbot will return between the pipes tonight against the Rangers.
Per Ansar Khan:
Talbot won his last two games, against the Sharks and the Kings.
The Wings must hope that the 38-year-old goalie is able to keep his momentum going to help the team win that crucial game against New York.
The team will also be able to count on Patrick Kane
More to come.
