Sam Bennett's arrival to the Detroit Red Wings has just been addressed

The potential signing of Sam Bennett with the Detroit Red Wings organization has just been addressed in a new report.
Unless the Florida Panthers decide to sign him to an extension, Sam Bennett will enter free agency on July 1st in a position to ask for a significant raise.
Currently competing in the Stanley Cup Finals, Bennett leads his team in points, tied with Matthew Tkachuk at 22, and is fourth in the whole NHL, behind Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard.
Not only is he helping his team offensively, but he's playing an important physical role for the Panthers and should be included in the Conn Smythe Trophy debates.
Many reports suggested that the player will remain in Florida, including this one from The Athletic's James Mirtle:
"Sorry to disappoint any fans of teams that need a center - which honestly feels like at least half the league right now - but no one I spoke to around the league expects Sam Bennett to be available. He likes playing in Florida too much - and the feeling is mutual."
However, in a new development, betting odds about Bennett's destination were released, and the Detroit Red Wings were on the list, prompting speculation to flow:
"According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Bennett is most likely to stay with the Panthers, with odds at -230. The Toronto Maple Leafs follow at +500, while teams like Vegas (+900), Boston (+2200), and Ottawa (+2600) round out the mid-tier options.
Detroit comes in at +3700, indicating that while it's not out of the question, it's certainly considered a long shot. Still, the Red Wings have surprised in the past, and Yzerman has shown a willingness to pounce when the right opportunity arises."

The Wings would love to add a forward like Bennett, but in the end, the Panthers seem to have an advantage over the other organizations.
