The Detroit Red Wings acquired a skilled forward in Nashville who could turn out to be a major reinforcement to the lineup in the near future.

Back in 2023, the Detroit Red Wings acquired Nate Danielson in the first round of the NHL Draft held in Nashville.
A lot of fans have high hopes for Danielson's NHL career.
He put up impressive numbers in his first full AHL season last year, tallying 39 points in 71 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, despite facing adversity in his adjustment to that level.
Some believe the 2025-26 season could be Danielson's first in the NHL. If he has a great training camp, there is a case to be made that he could have his rookie season next fall.
In a recent podcast, The Athletic's writers Corey Pronman and Max Bultman discussed what kind of impact Danielson could have in Detroit next season.

Danielson Could Have Similar Impact as Marco Kasper in Rookie Season

Yzerman has shown that he's willing to give players plenty of time to develop before bringing them to the NHL.
But after a 39-point season in the AHL at only 20 years old, Danielson could force McLellan and Yzerman to give him a shot in the NHL this year.
Pronman stated that his strong season, style, talent, and size make him stand out from the rest, and that he could have the same kind of impact that Marco Kasper had last year.
In his own words:
"Still one of the youngest players in the American League, [Danielson] played huge minutes for a good Grand Rapids team, and I thought he was really impactful.

You love his skating, I think his skill level really pops out whenever you watch him even if the points didn't translate completely to the pro hockey game this year.

You like the way he plays both ways, you like the size, and the way I'm looking at this, I still see a lot of the positive indicators.

You look at the points, similar to Kasper a year ago, same point in the development, I think, right at the same level, and I think you'd argue Danielson is even a little more toolsy.

[Danielson] could be a really good top-six forward, maybe not with the physicality of Kasper, but I think he could have more offense."
To make the opening-night roster, Danielson will need to shine at training camp. Stay tuned for all the latest updates regarding the Wings.
