Two members of the Detroit Red Wings organization handed severe suspensions after AHL melee

There was an on-ice melee in last night's game between the Grand Rapids Griffins and Rockford Ice Hogs, and the AHL has come down harshly on Grand Rapids.
Last nights game for the Grand Rapids Griffins featured plenty of excitement, as it marked the AHL debuts of Detroit Red Wings draft picks Axel Sandin Pellikka and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard.
However, the game was overshadowed by an on-ice melee that resulted in 13 penalties between the clubs along with ejections of Anton Johansson and Shai Buium; both players then were suspended for a game by the AHL because they left their bench to join the ruckus.
Additionally, Ice Hogs forward and captain Brett Seney was also suspended for a game.
The AHL issued the following statement regarding the suspensions:
The American Hockey League's Player Safety Committee today announced that Grand Rapids Griffins defensemen Shai Buium and Anton Johansson and Rockford IceHogs forward Brett Seney have been suspended for one (1) game each as a consequence of their actions in a game between the teams on Apr. 18.
Buium and Johansson will miss Grand Rapids' game tonight (Apr. 19) at Iowa. Seney will miss Rockford's game tonight (Apr. 19) at Chicago.

Both players are fortunate to have received only a single game suspension, considering the official AHL rule book calls for as many as 6 games for players who leave their bench to join an on-ice confrontation.
Wow Shai Buium and Anton Johansson have been suspended one game for leaving the bench last night. Kind of got off easy considering in the rule book I believe is says it could be up to 6 games.
